Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-Modal Visual Features-Based Video Shot Boundary Detection
TL;DR: A multi-modal visual features-based SBD framework is employed that aims to analyze the behaviors of visual representation in terms of the discontinuity signal and can achieve good accuracy in both types of video data set compared with other proposed SBD methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stillbirth risk prediction using machine learning for a large cohort of births from Western Australia, 1980–2015
Eva Malacova,Eva Malacova,Sawitchaya Tippaya,Helen D. Bailey,Kevin Chai,Brad M. Farrant,Amanuel Tesfay Gebremedhin,Helen Leonard,Michael Luke Marinovich,Natasha Nassar,Aloke Phatak,Camille Raynes-Greenow,Annette K. Regan,Annette K. Regan,Annette K. Regan,Antonia W. Shand,Antonia W. Shand,Carrington C. J. Shepherd,Carrington C. J. Shepherd,Ravisha Srinivasjois,Ravisha Srinivasjois,Gizachew Assefa Tessema,Gavin Pereira,Gavin Pereira,Gavin Pereira +24 more
TL;DR: Almost half of stillbirths could be potentially identified antenatally based on a combination of current pregnancy complications, congenital anomalies, maternal characteristics, and medical history, and ensemble classifiers offered marginal improvement for prediction compared to logistic regression.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Video shot boundary detection based on candidate segment selection and transition pattern analysis
TL;DR: A combination of global and local feature descriptors is implemented to represent the temporal characteristic in video to automatically detect the boundary region in video that further segment the video into meaningful shot, scene and so on.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting Knee Joint Kinematics from Wearable Sensor Data in People with Knee Osteoarthritis and Clinical Considerations for Future Machine Learning Models
Jay-Shian Tan,Sawitchaya Tippaya,Tara Binnie,Paul Davey,Kathryn R. Napier,J. P. Caneiro,Peter Kent,Anne Smith,Peter O'Sullivan,Amity Campbell +9 more
TL;DR: The feasibility of using IMU training data from people with knee osteoarthritis performing multiple clinically important activities to predict knee joint sagittal plane kinematics using a deep learning approach is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accelerating Species Recognition and Labelling of Fish From Underwater Video With Machine-Assisted Deep Learning
Daniel Marrable,Kathryn Barker,Sawitchaya Tippaya,Mathew Wyatt,Scott Bainbridge,Marcus Stowar,Jason Larke +6 more
TL;DR: Taking a combined, machine-assisted approach presents a significant advancement towards the applied use of deep learning for fish species detection in fish analysis and workflows and has potential for future fish ecologist uptake if integrated into video analysis software.
