Journal ArticleDOI

Pressure-induced insulating state in Ba 1 − x R x IrO 3 ( R = Gd , Eu) single crystals

TL;DR: In this article, the ground state of Ba is shown to respond to light doping and low hydrostatic pressures, indicating an unusual, delicate interplay between structural and electronic degrees of freedom.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterisation of porphyrazinoctamine derivatives: X-ray crystallographic studies of [2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octakis(dibenzylamino)- porphyrazinato]magnesium(II) and {2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octakis[allyl(benzyl)amino]- porphyrazinato} nickel(II)

TL;DR: In this paper, 2,3-Bis(dibenzylamino)-and 2, 3-bis[allyl(benzyl)amino]-2Z-butene-1,4-dinitriles are macrocyclised by reaction with magnesium propoxide in propanol to provide the corresponding (porphyrazinato)magnesium(II) derivatives, the structures of which are confirmed by X-ray crystallographic studies of the title magnesium and nickel(III) complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mercurophilic interaction in novel polynuclear Hg(II)-2-aminoethanethiolates.

TL;DR: The reaction of 2-aminoethanethiol hydrochloride with Hg (2)Cl(2) in water yielded elemental mercury and one-dimensional polynuclear compounds that have been characterized by (1)H and (13)C NMR, UV-Vis, FT-IR, Raman, mass spectrometry, TGA and single X-ray crystallography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photo-response of the conductivity in functionalized pentacene compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, the photo-response of a new class of organic semiconductors based on functionalized pentacene was investigated, and the authors found strong evidence that the photo response in the materials investigated is predominantly a highly localized heating mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization, and structure of cyclopenta[c]thiophenes and their manganese complexes.

TL;DR: 1,3-Diaryl-4H-cyclopenta[c]thiophenes are efficiently prepared from 1,2-diaroylcyclopentadienes by use of Lawesson's reagent, with the manganese atom slightly displaced away from the ring-fusion bond.
