Journal ArticleDOI
Premature ageing in mice expressing defective mitochondrial DNA polymerase
Aleksandra Trifunovic,Anna Wredenberg,Maria Falkenberg,Johannes N. Spelbrink,Anja T. Rovio,Carl E.G. Bruder,Mohammad Bohlooly-Y,Sebastian Gidlöf,Anders Oldfors,Rolf Wibom,Jan Törnell,Howard T. Jacobs,Nils-Göran Larsson +12 more
TL;DR: The results provide a causative link between mtDNA mutations and ageing phenotypes in mammals by creating homozygous knock-in mice that express a proof-reading-deficient version of PolgA, the nucleus-encoded catalytic subunit of mtDNA polymerase.
Journal ArticleDOI
One hundred years of congenital adrenal hyperplasia in Sweden: a retrospective, population-based cohort study
Sebastian Gidlöf,Sebastian Gidlöf,Henrik Falhammar,Henrik Falhammar,Astrid Thilén,Ulrika von Döbeln,Martin Ritzén,Anna Wedell,Anna Wedell,Anna Nordenström,Anna Nordenström +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that, contrary to current belief, boys and girls with salt-wasting congenital adrenal hyperplasia were equally missed clinically, and neonatal screening improved detection of the salt-Wasting form in girls as well as boys, saving lives in both sexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nationwide Neonatal Screening for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia in Sweden A 26-Year Longitudinal Prospective Population-Based Study
Sebastian Gidlöf,Sebastian Gidlöf,Anna Wedell,Anna Wedell,Claes Guthenberg,Ulrika von Döbeln,Ulrika von Döbeln,Anna Nordenström,Anna Nordenström +8 more
TL;DR: Screening for CAH was highly effective in detecting the salt-wasting form and thereby reducing mortality and the sensitivity was negatively correlated with the duration of follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID-19 in pregnancy with comorbidities: More liberal testing strategy is needed.
TL;DR: Despite a global pandemic, reports on pregnant women with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are few so far, testing strategies vary substantially and management guidelines are not uniform.
Journal ArticleDOI
Continuous human uterine NK cell differentiation in response to endometrial regeneration and pregnancy.
Benedikt Strunz,Jonna Bister,Hanna Jönsson,Iva Filipovic,Ylva Crona-Guterstam,Ylva Crona-Guterstam,Egle Kvedaraite,Egle Kvedaraite,Natalie Sleiers,Bogdan Dumitrescu,Mats Brännström,Antonio Lentini,Björn Reinius,Martin Cornillet,Tim Willinger,Sebastian Gidlöf,Sebastian Gidlöf,Russell S. Hamilton,Martin A. Ivarsson,Niklas K. Björkström +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the differentiation of human uterine natural killer cells (uNK cells) in a tissue undergoing constant regeneration and represented the major leukocyte population at the maternal-fetal interface.
