Journal ArticleDOI

Strong hydrogen bond-mediated complexation of H2PO4− by neutral bis-thiourea hosts

TL;DR: In this article, a bis-thiourea receptor based on a xanthene spacer selectively binds dihyrogenphosphate via multitopic hydrogen bonding, giving stronger complexes with H2PO4− neutral receptor known so far.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anion recognition by urea and thiourea groups: Remarkably simple neutral receptors for dihydrogenphosphate

TL;DR: A bisurea and a bis-thiourea host were derived in only one step from 1,3-bis(aminomethyl)benzene, and they were shown to bind dihydrogenphosphate selectively over various other anions (H2PO4− > CH3COO− > Cl− > HSO4−> NO3−> ClO4−) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Chloride Ion-Selective Solvent Polymeric Membrane Electrode Based on a Hydrogen Bond Forming Ionophore

TL;DR: In this paper, a chloride-selective solvent polymeric membrane electrode based on a neutral hydrogen bond forming ionophore, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the plasticizer 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether (o-NPOE), and cationic sites was described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of abasic site-containing DNA strands for nucleobase recognition in water

TL;DR: A stacking interaction with nucleobases flanking the AP site seems responsible for the binding properties of 2-amino-7-methylnaphthyridine at theAP site, and possible use of AMND is presented for selective and visible detection of a single-base alternation related to the cytosine base.
