Journal ArticleDOI

A simple and rapid harvesting method for microalgae by in situ magnetic separation.

TL;DR: A simple and rapid harvesting method by in situ magnetic separation with naked Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles with great potential for saving time and energy associated with improving microalgal harvesting.
Journal ArticleDOI

An economic analysis of biomass gasification and power generation in China.

TL;DR: Experimental data from 1 MW-scale circulating fluidized bed BGPG plants constructed recently in China were analyzed and it was found that the unit capital cost of BGPG is only 60-70% of coal power station and its operation cost is much lower than that of conventional power plants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Algal oil extraction from wet biomass of Botryococcus braunii by 1,2-dimethoxyethane

TL;DR: In this article, a water-miscible solvent of 1,2-dimethoxyethane was found for efficient extraction of algal oil from wet cells of Botryococcus braunii, and an energy cost analysis indicated that the water content reduction of the wet algal biomass in the algal harvesting process had a great impact on energy saving.
