The purpose of smart city is to enhance the optimal utilization of scarce resources and improve the resident’s quality of live. The smart cities employed Internet of Things (IoT) to create a sustainable urban life. The IoT devices such as sensors, actuators, and smartphones in the smart cities generate data. The data generated from the smart cities are subjected to analytics to gain insight and discover new knowledge for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the smart cities. Recently, the application of deep learning in smart cities has gained a tremendous attention from the research community. However, despite raise in popularity and achievements made by deep learning in solving problems in smart cities, no survey has been dedicated mainly on the application of deep learning in smart cities to show recent progress and direction for future development. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes to conduct a dedicated survey on the applications of deep learning in smart cities. In this paper, recent progress, new taxonomies, challenges and opportunities for future research opportunities on the application of deep learning in smart cities have been unveiled. The paper can provide opportunities for experts in the research community to propose a novel approach for developing the research area. On the other hand, new researchers interested in the research area can use the paper as an entry point.

Deep learning application in smart cities: recent development, taxonomy, challenges and research prospects

Internet of Things (IoT) — a unified network of physical objects that can change the parameters of the environment or their own, gather information and transmit it to other devices. It is emerging as the third wave in the development of the internet. This technology will give immediate access to information about the physical world and the objects in it leading to innovative services and increase in efficiency and productivity. The IoT is enabled by the latest developments, smart sensors, communication technologies, and Internet protocols. This article contains a description of lnternet of things (IoT) networks. Much attention is given to prospects for future of using IoT and it's development. Some problems of development IoT are were noted. The article also gives valuable information on building(construction) IoT systems based on PLC technology.

Power line communication in IoT-systems

The oceans cover more than two-thirds of the planet, representing the vastest part of natural resources. Nevertheless, only a fraction of the ocean depths has been explored. Within this context, this article presents the H2020 ENDURUNS project that describes a novel scientific and technological approach for prolonged underwater autonomous operations of seabed survey activities, either in the deep ocean or in coastal areas. The proposed approach combines a hybrid Autonomous Underwater Vehicle capable of moving using either thrusters or as a sea glider, combined with an Unmanned Surface Vehicle equipped with satellite communication facilities for interaction with a land station. Both vehicles are equipped with energy packs that combine hydrogen fuel cells and Li-ion batteries to provide extended duration of the survey operations. The Unmanned Surface Vehicle employs photovoltaic panels to increase the autonomy of the vehicle. Since these missions generate a large amount of data, both vehicles are equipped with onboard Central Processing units capable of executing data analysis and compression algorithms for the semantic classification and transmission of the acquired data.

ENDURUNS: An Integrated and Flexible Approach for Seabed Survey Through Autonomous Mobile Vehicles

Assessment of the Impact of Destabilizing Factors in the Main Engine Shaft of the Adaptive Speed Controller

This paper deals with the methods for investigating the nonlinear dynamics of discrete chaotic systems (DCS) applied to piecewise linear systems of the third order. The paper proposes an approach to the analysis of the systems under research and their improvement. Thus, effective and mathematically sound methods for the analysis of nonlinear motions in the models under consideration are proposed. It makes it possible to obtain simple calculated relations for determining the basic dynamic characteristics of systems. Based on these methods, the authors developed algorithms for calculating the dynamic characteristics of discrete systems, i.e. areas of the existence of steady-state motion, areas of stability, capture band, and parameters of transients. By virtue of the developed methods and algorithms, the dynamic modes of several models of discrete phase synchronization systems can be analyzed. They are as follows: Pulsed and digital different orders, dual-ring systems of various types, including combined ones, and systems with cyclic interruption of auto-tuning. The efficiency of various devices for information processing, generation and stabilization could be increased by using the mentioned discrete synchronization systems on the grounds of the results of the analysis. We are now developing original software for analyzing the dynamic characteristics of various classes of discrete phase synchronization systems, based on the developed methods and algorithms.

Hard- and Software Implementation of Emergency Prevention System for Maritime Transport

In work, the questions of stabilization of factors of reliability of operation of the ship equipment are considered. According to the Navy Register rules, ship electrical power system voltage fluctuations within ±10 % of the nominal voltage are admissible if not lasting longer than 5 seconds; longer fluctuations are admissible if they are within ±5 % of the nominal voltage. The work of the engine with loads is presented. The algorithm for parameter optimization was applied. The calculation is performed on real parameters.
