Arsenic mobility and groundwater extraction in Bangladesh.

TL;DR: The results of field injection of molasses, nitrate, and low-arsenic water show that organic carbon or its degradation products may quickly mobilize arsenic, oxidants may lower arsenic concentrations, and sorption of arsenic is limited by saturation of aquifer materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimation of surface evaporation map over Southern Great Plains using remote sensing data

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple scheme to estimate surface evaporation over large heterogeneous areas using remote sensing data is proposed, which is based on an extension of the Priestley-Taylor equation and a relationship between remotely sensed surface temperature and vegetation index.
Journal ArticleDOI

Groundwater dynamics and arsenic contamination in Bangladesh

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the complex transient patterns of groundwater flow that flush solutes from aquifers and carry solutes into the subsurface of Bangladesh's underground aquifer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mobility of arsenic in a Bangladesh aquifer: Inferences from geochemical profiles, leaching data, and mineralogical characterization

TL;DR: Aquifer geochemical profiles of aqueous and solid phase parameters were measured in a field site in the Munshiganj district of Bangladesh where the groundwater is severely contaminated by As as discussed by the authors.
