Medicines adherence: Involving patients in decisions about prescribed medicines and supporting adherence
V. Nunes,J. Neilson,N. O'Flynn,N. Calvert,S. Kuntze,H. Smithson,J.A. Benson,J. Blair,A. Bowser,Wendy Clyne,P. Crome,Peter M. Haddad,Steve Hemingway,Rob Horne,Shannon L. Johnson,S. Kelly,B. Packam,Mahendra Patel,J. Steel +18 more
TL;DR: Addressing non-adherence is not about getting patients to take more medicines per se, rather, it starts with an exploration of patients’ perspectives of medicines and the reasons why they may not want or are unable to use them.
Journal ArticleDOI
Three Acyltransferases and Nitrogen-responsive Regulator Are Implicated in Nitrogen Starvation-induced Triacylglycerol Accumulation in Chlamydomonas
Nanette R. Boyle,Mark Dudley Page,Bensheng Liu,Ian K. Blaby,David Casero,Janette Kropat,Shawn J. Cokus,Anne Hong-Hermesdorf,Johnathan Shaw,Steven J. Karpowicz,Sean D. Gallaher,Shannon L. Johnson,Christoph Benning,Matteo Pellegrini,Arthur R. Grossman,Sabeeha S. Merchant +15 more
TL;DR: Time course analyses suggest than a SQUAMOSA promoter-binding protein domain transcription factor, whose mRNA increases precede that of lipid biosynthesis genes like DGAT1, is a candidate regulator of the nitrogen deficiency responses.
Three Acyltransferases and Nitrogen-responsive Regulator Are Implicated in Nitrogen Starvation-induced Triacylglycerol
Nanette R. Boyle,Mark Dudley Page,Bensheng Liu,Ian K. Blaby,David Casero,Janette Kropat,Shawn J. Cokus,Anne Hong-Hermesdorf,Johnathan Shaw,Steven J. Karpowicz,Sean D. Gallaher,Shannon L. Johnson,Christoph Benning,Matteo Pellegrini,Arthur R. Grossman,Sabeeha S. Merchant +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used RNA-Seq as a tool for discovering genes responsible for triacylglycerol (TAG) production in Chlamydomonas and for the regulatory components that activate the pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systems-Level Analysis of Nitrogen Starvation–Induced Modifications of Carbon Metabolism in a Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Starchless Mutant
Ian K. Blaby,Anne G. Glaesener,Tabea Mettler,Sorel Fitz-Gibbon,Sean D. Gallaher,Bensheng Liu,Nanette R. Boyle,Janette Kropat,Mark Stitt,Shannon L. Johnson,Christoph Benning,Matteo Pellegrini,David Casero,Sabeeha S. Merchant +13 more
TL;DR: Transcriptomics of N-deprived Chlamydomonas sta6, CC-4349 (a wild-type strain), and three complemented STA6 strains showed upregulation of glyoxylate and gluconeogenesis pathways, validated by enzyme and metabolite analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small-scale vertical distribution of bacterial biomass and diversity in biological soil crusts from arid lands in the Colorado plateau.
TL;DR: This study indicates that soil crusts represent small-scale mantles of fertility in arid ecosystems, harboring vertically structured, little-known bacterial populations that are not well represented by standard cultivation methods.
