Journal ArticleDOI
CaWRKY6 transcriptionally activates CaWRKY40, regulates Ralstonia solanacearum resistance, and confers high-temperature and high-humidity tolerance in pepper
Hanyang Cai,Sheng Yang,yan yan,Zhuoli Xiao,junbin cheng,Ji Wu,Ailian Qiu,Yan Lai,Shaoliang Mou,Deyi Guan,Ronghua Huang,Shuilin He +11 more
TL;DR: CaWRKY6 is a positive regulator of R. solanacearum resistance and heat-stress tolerance, which occurs in part by activating CaWRKY40.
Journal ArticleDOI
CaWRKY22 Acts as a Positive Regulator in Pepper Response to Ralstonia Solanacearum by Constituting Networks with CaWRKY6, CaWRKY27, CaWRKY40, and CaWRKY58
Ansar Hussain,Xia Li,Yahong Weng,Zhiqin Liu,Muhammad Furqan Ashraf,Ali Noman,Sheng Yang,Muhammad Ifnan,Shanshan Qiu,Yingjie Yang,Deyi Guan,Shuilin He +11 more
TL;DR: The role of CaWRKY22 is recommended as a positive regulator of pepper immunity against R. Solanacearum, which is regulated by signaling synergistically mediated by SA, jasmonic acid (JA), and ethylene (ET), integrating into WRKY networks with WRKY TFs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pepper CabZIP63 acts as a positive regulator during Ralstonia solanacearum or high temperature–high humidity challenge in a positive feedback loop with CaWRKY40
Lei Shen,Zhiqin Liu,Sheng Yang,Tong Yang,Jiaqi Liang,Jiayu Wen,Yanyan Liu,Jiazhi Li,Lanping Shi,Qian Tang,Wei Shi,Jiong Hu,Cailing Liu,Yangwen Zhang,Wei Lin,Rongzhang Wang,Huanxin Yu,Shaoliang Mou,Ansar Hussain,Wei Cheng,Hanyang Cai,Li He,Deyi Guan,Yang Wu,Shuilin He +24 more
TL;DR: CabZip63 positively modulates transcription of CabZIP63 and CaWRKY40, enhances the binding of CaWR KY40 to its target promoters, and, therefore, increases resistance to Ralstonia solanacearum and thermotolerance.
Journal ArticleDOI
CaWRKY40b in pepper acts as a negative regulator in response to Ralstonia solanacearum by directly modulating defense genes including CaWRKY40.
Muhammad Ifnan Khan,Yangwen Zhang,Zhiqin Liu,Jiong Hu,Cailing Liu,Sheng Yang,Ansar Hussain,Muhammad Furqan Ashraf,Ali Noman,Lei Shen,Xiaoqin Xia,Feng Yang,Deyi Guan,Shuilin He +13 more
TL;DR: The findings of the present study suggest that CaWRKY40b acts as a negative regulator in pepper immunity against R. solanacearum by transcriptional modulation of a subset of immunity-associated genes; it also represses immunity in the absence of a pathogen, and derepresses immunity upon pathogen challenge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide identification and transcriptional expression analysis of mitogen-activated protein kinase and mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase genes in Capsicum annuum
Zhiqin Liu,Lanping Shi,Yanyan Liu,Qian Tang,Lei Shen,Sheng Yang,Jinsen Cai,Huanxin Yu,Rongzhang Wang,Jiayu Wen,Youquan Lin,Jiong Hu,Cailing Liu,Yangwen Zhang,Shaoliang Mou,Shuilin He +15 more
TL;DR: Quantitative real-time RT-PCR analysis showed that the majority of MAPK and MAPKK genes were ubiquitously expressed and transcriptionally modified in pepper leaves after treatments with heat, salt, and Ralstonia solanacearum inoculation as well as exogenously applied salicylic acid, methyl jasmonate, ethephon, and abscisic acid.
