Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of moisture states of natural and recycled aggregates on the slump and compressive strength of concrete
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of moisture states of natural and recycled aggregates on the properties of fresh and hardened concretes was investigated, and the results suggested that an AD aggregate that contains not more than 50% recycled aggregate is optimum for producing normal strength recycled aggregate concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparisons of natural and recycled aggregate concretes prepared with the addition of different mineral admixtures
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of natural and recycled aggregate concrete prepared with the incorporation of different mineral admixtures including silica fumes (SF), metakaolin (MK), fly ash (FA) and Ground granulated blast slag (GGBS) was determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of Fly Ash as Cement Replacement on the Properties of Recycled Aggregate Concrete
TL;DR: The use of high percentages of recycled aggregates in concrete would usually worsen the concrete properties as discussed by the authors, and the use of fly ash as a substitute for natural aggregate is not beneficial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rate of pozzolanic reaction of metakaolin in high-performance cement pastes
TL;DR: In this paper, the hydration progress in metakaolin-blended high-performance cement pastes with age was assessed from the measurements of compressive strength, porosity, and pore size distribution, the degree of pozzolanic reaction, and the Ca(OH)2(CH) content of the MK-blending pastes at a water-to-binder ratio of 0.3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term mechanical and durability properties of recycled aggregate concrete prepared with the incorporation of fly ash
TL;DR: In this paper, a long-term study on the mechanical and durability properties of concrete prepared with 0, 50% and 100% recycled concrete aggregate that were cured in water or outdoor exposure conditions for 10 years was presented.
