Improved plasticity of Inconel 718 superalloy fabricated by selective laser melting through a novel heat treatment process
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel heat treatment (NHT) including higher temperature homogenization at 1150°C for 2.5h and one-time lower temperature aging treatment at 700C for 12h is developed, which can overcome the strength-plasticity trade-off of Inconel 718 alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study on the microstructure and creep behavior of Inconel 718 superalloy fabricated by selective laser melting
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used scanning and transmission microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction to clarify the microstructure of Inconel 718 alloy cylindrical rods before and after creep.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructure and creep anisotropy of Inconel 718 alloy processed by selective laser melting
Shi Jingfang,S.A. Zhou,Huihua Chen,G.H. Cao,Alan M. Russell,Z.J. Zhou,Xin Bo Qi,C. Li,G.F. Chen +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, Inconel 718 alloy cylindrical rods with their axes normal or parallel to the building directions were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM), then homogenized and double aged.
