Improved plasticity of Inconel 718 superalloy fabricated by selective laser melting through a novel heat treatment process
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel heat treatment (NHT) including higher temperature homogenization at 1150°C for 2.5h and one-time lower temperature aging treatment at 700C for 12h is developed, which can overcome the strength-plasticity trade-off of Inconel 718 alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of scanning strategy on mechanical properties of selective laser melted Inconel 718
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of scanning strategy, i.e., bidirectional scanning without (SS-X) and with a 90°-rotation (SS -XY) for every layer, on mechanical properties of Inconel 718 fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study on the microstructure and creep behavior of Inconel 718 superalloy fabricated by selective laser melting
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used scanning and transmission microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction to clarify the microstructure of Inconel 718 alloy cylindrical rods before and after creep.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative investigation of small punch creep resistance of Inconel 718 fabricated by selective laser melting
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the creep performance of as-forged and as-cast Inconel 718 via small-punch creep test technique and found that the SLM-fabricated samples have a time to rupture approximately equal to that of the asforged samples but much less than the as cast sample due to the difference in the microstructures introduced by these manufacture processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pore-affected fatigue life scattering and prediction of additively manufactured Inconel 718: An investigation based on miniature specimen testing and machine learning approach
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the relationship between pore features and fatigue life of Inconel 718 fabricated by selective laser melting and combined with statistical method and machine learning algorithms.
