Influence of steroid therapy on the course of diabetes mellitus in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis: findings from a nationwide survey in Japan.

TL;DR: Findings indicated that steroid therapy has a beneficial effect on the clinical courses of DM in approximately half of AIP patients, however, it also has negative effect on glucose tolerance in some patients, particularly older patients, and thus, careful observation for involvement of DM should be required in A IP patients treated with steroids.

A Case of Autoimmune Pancreatitis Responding to Steroid Therapy

TL;DR: The present report is the first to demonstrate histologic recovery of autoimmune pancreatitis after steroid therapy, which responded well to steroid treatment and provided histologic and radiographic evidence for this improvement.
