Interpretation and Use of Natriuretic Peptides in Non-Congestive Heart Failure Settings

Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of hypoxia inducible factor-1α attenuates abdominal aortic aneurysm progression through the down-regulation of matrix metalloproteinases.

TL;DR: This study provides a rationale for using HIF-1α inhibitors as an adjunctive medical therapy in addition to current cardiovascular risk-reducing regimens after initial in vitro experiments found that DFO augmented the severity of AngII-induced AAA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association between use of oral-antidiabetic drugs and the risk of aortic aneurysm: A nested case-control analysis

TL;DR: Metformin, sulfonylurea, and TZD treated patients were associated with lower risks of AA development, but not DPP-4 inhibitors or alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, and the protective effects of hypoglycemic agents are confirmed.
Journal ArticleDOI
