Journal ArticleDOI

Antibiotic resistance genes attenuation in anaerobic microorganisms during iron uptake from zero valent iron: An iron-dependent form of homeostasis and roles as regulators.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the influence of zero valent iron (ZVI) on ARGs dissemination in anaerobic bioreactor treating oxytetracycline (tet) containing wastewater, by deciphering the roles of iron homeostasis and regulatory effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attenuation effects of iron on dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes in anaerobic bioreactor: Evolution of quorum sensing, quorum quenching and dynamics of community composition.

TL;DR: It was demonstrated that ARGs abundance was strongly limited by the dynamics of bacterial composition and thereby less frequent microbial communication, which provided new insights into the mechanisms of antibiotic resistome remission in anaerobic bioreactor modified by ZVI.
