Journal ArticleDOI
Early Safety and Efficacy of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation for Asian Nonagenarians (from KMH Registry).
Mizuki Miura,Shinichi Shirai,Yukari Uemura,Hiroyuki Jinnouchi,Takashi Morinaga,Akihiro Isotani,Shun Watanabe,Masaomi Hayashi,Norihiko Kamioka,Atsushi Nagasawa,Shinichi Kakumoto,Katsuhiro Seo,Yoshio Arai,Michiya Hanyu,Kenji Ando +14 more
TL;DR: TAVI can contribute to acceptable clinical results and benefits in a carefully selected group of nonagenarians in Asia in what is likely to be a rapidly aging population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Utility of Intraoperative Motor-Evoked Potential Monitoring to Prevent Postoperative Spinal Cord Injury in Thoracic and Thoracoabdominal Aneurysm Repair: An Audit of the Japanese Association of Spinal Cord Protection in Aortic Surgery Database.
Kenji Yoshitani,Kenichi Masui,Masahiko Kawaguchi,Mikito Kawamata,Manabu Kakinohana,Shinya Kato,Kyoko Hasuwa,Michiaki Yamakage,Yusuke Yoshikawa,Kimitoshi Nishiwaki,Tadashi Aoyama,Yoshimi Inagaki,Kazumasa Yamasaki,Mishiya Matsumoto,Kazuyoshi Ishida,Atsuo Yamashita,Katsuhiro Seo,Shinichi Kakumoto,Hironobu Hayashi,Yuu Tanaka,Satoshi Tanaka,Takashi Ishida,Hiroyuki Uchino,Takayasu Kakinuma,Yoshitsugu Yamada,Yoshiteru Mori,Shunsuke Izumi,Kunihiro Nishimura,Michikazu Nakai,Yoshihiko Ohnishi +29 more
TL;DR: It was revealed that postoperative motor deficits at discharge did not have a significant association with MEP monitoring, and the sensitivity and specificity of MEP <25% of control value for motor deficit at discharge were 37.8% and 95.5% respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Continuous PECS II block for postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing transapical transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
TL;DR: Investigation of two cases of TA-TAVI who received PECS II block with catheterization to manage postoperative pain found that the insertion of the catheter after the implantation could be useful to avoid its displacement during the surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Valve Hemodynamics and Clinical Outcomes After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement for a Small Aortic Annulus
Norihiko Kamioka,Takeshi Arita,Michiya Hanyu,Masaomi Hayashi,Shun Watanabe,Shiro Miura,Akihiro Isotani,Yoshio Arai,Shinichi Kakumoto,Kenji Ando,Shinichi Shirai +10 more
TL;DR: TAVR with a Sapien XT in SAA patients improved the valve hemodynamics and reduced the incidence of PPM compared with SAVR, and TAVR can be considered an alternative option to S AVR in high surgical risk patients with SAA.
