Two types of indirect cyclodimerization of biacetyl via its enol silyl ethers

TL;DR: Silyl ethers of biacetyl enols, an enone 2 and a diene 3, were prepared in this article, and cyclodimerization of 2 gave a dihydropyran 4, while reaction of 3 with 2, maleic anhydride, and ethyl acrylate gave Diels-Alder adduct 5, 8, and 9, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ring-opening silylformylation of oxetanes catalyzed by [RhCl(CO)2]2-amine

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of oxetanes with a hydrosilane and carbon monoxide results in ring-opening silyformylation to give γ-siloxy aldehydes in 42-83% yields.
Patent

Fluorine-containing compounds

TL;DR: In this article, a novel fluorine-containing compound of the formula R.sub.1 --A--R.sub 2 was described, where R 1 and R 2 are each hydrogen or R 3 OOC--CH 2 ) n, while X is hydrogen or halogen; R 3 is a lower alkyl group; m is an integer of 1 to 5; and n is a process for preparing the same.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acetoxyselenation: reaction of olefins with diphenyl diselenide and cupric acetate

TL;DR: In the presence of cupric acetate, diphenyl diselenide was found to react with olefins in acetic acid to afford 2-acetoxyalkyl phenyl selenide.
