Journal ArticleDOI

Extensive intraoperative peritoneal lavage as a standard prophylactic strategy for peritoneal recurrence in patients with gastric carcinoma.

TL;DR: It is revealed that EIPL-IPC therapy significantly improved the 5-year survival span of advanced gastric cancer patients with CY+/P− and is strongly recommended as a standard prophylactic strategy for peritoneal dissemination.
Journal Article

Mechanisms of Peritoneal Metastasis after Operation for Non-Serosa-invasive Gastric Carcinoma: An Ultrarapid Detection System for Intraperitoneal Free Cancer Cells and a Prophylactic Strategy for Peritoneal Metastasis

TL;DR: The present study proved that lymph node dissection opened lymphatic channels and spread viable cancer cells into the peritoneal cavity and suggested that the combination of the novel detection system with the intraoperative therapy of EIPL can be a useful prophylactic strategy forperitoneal metastasis from gastric carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relationship Between Plasma Cytokine Concentration and Multiple Organ Failure in Patients with Acute Pancreatitis

TL;DR: The results suggest that the plasma concentrations of sTNF-Rs are useful predictors for the development of MOF, and actions of TNF-&agr; and IL-1&bgr; could be regulated by their modulators in the pathologic condition of severe acute pancreatitis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Complications and management of microwave coagulation therapy for primary and metastatic liver tumors.

TL;DR: The incidence of complications increased significantly when the tumor size was more than 4 cm when MCT was indicated, and the prophylaxis and treatment of these complications enhance the safety of MCT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of early gastric cancer and proposal of the optimal therapeutic strategy.

TL;DR: The need for reoperation for a formal gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy or a limited surgical operation will vary depending on the pathologic analysis of endoscopic mucosal resection specimens (depth of invasion, presence of ulceration).
