p16 Ink4a -induced senescence of pancreatic beta cells enhances insulin secretion
Aharon Helman,Agnes Klochendler,Narmen Azazmeh,Yael Gabai,Elad Horwitz,Shira Anzi,Avital Swisa,Reba Condiotti,Roy Z. Granit,Yuval Nevo,Yaakov Fixler,Dorin Shreibman,Amit Zamir,Sharona Tornovsky-Babeay,Chunhua Dai,Benjamin Glaser,Alvin C. Powers,Alvin C. Powers,Alvin C. Powers,A. M. James Shapiro,Mark A. Magnuson,Yuval Dor,Ittai Ben-Porath +22 more
TL;DR: A novel role is revealed for p16Ink4a and cellular senescence in promoting insulin secretion by beta cells and in regulating normal functional tissue maturation with age in mice with diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, a large-scale pooled screening of SARS-CoV-2 infection is reported, where pooling strategies for RNA extraction and reverse transcription (RT)-PCR detection are proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
MDM2 and Fbw7 cooperate to induce p63 protein degradation following DNA damage and cell differentiation
Francesco Galli,Mariangela Rossi,Yuri D'Alessandra,Marco De Simone,Teresa Lopardo,Ygal Haupt,Osnat Alsheich-Bartok,Shira Anzi,Eitan Shaulian,Viola Calabrò,Girolama La Mantia,Luisa Guerrini +11 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that following DNA damage and cellular differentiation MDM2 and Fbw7 can cooperate to regulate the levels of the pro-proliferative ΔNp63α protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fbw7 regulates the activity of endoreduplication mediators and the p53 pathway to prevent drug-induced polyploidy.
TL;DR: It is suggested that Fbw7 serves as a master regulator of the mitotic and tetraploidy checkpoints.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNA Damage–Dependent Translocation of B23 and p19ARF Is Regulated by the Jun N-Terminal Kinase Pathway
TL;DR: It is suggested that c-Jun translocates B23 and ARF from the nucleolus after JNK activation by means of protein interactions, and in senescent cells, JNK activity and c- Jun levels are reduced concomitantly with ARF nucleolar accumulation, and UV radiation does not cause the translocation of ARF.
