Journal ArticleDOI

Diacylglycerol acyltransferase in maturing safflower seeds: its influences on the fatty acid composition of triacylglycerol and on the rate of triacylglycerol synthesis.

TL;DR: Diacylglycerol acyltransferase in a particulate preparation from maturing safflower seeds showed no strict selectivity for acyl-CoA when acyl -CoA substrates were administered as mixtures, suggesting that the fatty acid composition of position 3 insafflower triacyl-sn-glycersol exclusively depends on the acyl
Journal ArticleDOI

cDNA cloning of an mRNA encoding a sulfur-rich 10 kDa prolamin polypeptide in rice seeds

TL;DR: Using a rice maturing seed pUC9 expression library, a cDNA clone corresponding to 10 kDa sulfurrich prolamin was isolated by immunoscreening and a polypeptide sequence composed of 134 amino acids was deduced from the nucleotide sequence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three cDNA sequences coding for glutamine synthetase polypeptides in Oryza sativa L.

TL;DR: Atsushi Sakamoto i, Masahiro Ogawa 3, Takehiro Masumura l, Daisuke Shibata 1, Go Takeba 2, Kunisuke Tanaka 1 and Shoji Fujii 1 1
Journal ArticleDOI

1-Acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase in maturing safflower seeds and its contribution to the non-random fatty acid distribution of triacylglycerol.

TL;DR: The data suggest that affinity of the acyltransferase for substrates may vary in response to changes in temperature, and that 1-acyl-glycerol-3-P acyl transferase may be involved in the alteration of the individual fatty acid compositions at positions 1 and 2 of glycerolipids in tissues grown at different temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Amino Acid Composition of Rice Prolamin Polypeptides

TL;DR: Rice prolamin extracted with 60 % (v/v) n-propanol from protein-rich rice bran was fractionated into individual polypeptides by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing, and the amino acid composition of eachpolypeptide was analyzed.
