Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient catalytic As(III) oxidation on the surface of ferrihydrite in the presence of aqueous Mn(II).
Shuai Lan,Hong Ying,Xiaoming Wang,Fan Liu,Wenfeng Tan,Qiaoyun Huang,Jing Zhang,Xionghan Feng +7 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that efficient As(III) oxidation by dissolved O2 occurs on the surface of ferrihydrite in the presence of aqueous Mn(II) as well as the new details regarding the electron transfer mechanisms between the As (III)-Mn(II, III)-O2 species at the ferriHydrite surface, which could lead to novel approaches for As( III) contaminant remediation in the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation and secondary mineralization of ferrihydrite in the presence of silicate and Mn(II)
Xiaoming Wang,Xiaoming Wang,Mengqiang Zhu,Shuai Lan,Matthew Ginder-Vogel,Fan Liu,Xionghan Feng +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effects of Fe(III) hydrolysis rate and dissolved Si concentration on ferrihydrite formation, as well as the effect of aqueous Mn(II) on the transformation of 2LFh.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Presence of Ferrihydrite Promotes Abiotic Formation of Manganese (Oxyhydr)oxides

TL;DR: In this article, a key laboratory of arable land conservation (Middle and Lower Reaches of Yangtse River), Ministry of Agriculture, College of Resources and Environment, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan 430070, China
Journal ArticleDOI
The catalytic effect of AQDS as an electron shuttle on Mn(II) oxidation to birnessite on ferrihydrite at circumneutral pH
Shuai Lan,Shuai Lan,Xiaoming Wang,Peng Yang,Zhangjie Qin,Mengqiang Zhu,Jing Zhang,Fan Liu,Wenfeng Tan,Qiaoyun Huang,Xionghan Feng +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of Anthraquinone-2, 6-disulfonate (AQDS) concentration and types of mineral surfaces on 24mM Mn(II) oxidation were explored at pH 7.0 using macroscopic and spectroscopic analyses.
