Transparent Contribution Evaluation for Secure Federated Learning on Blockchain
Shuaicheng Ma,Yang Cao,Li Xiong +2 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a blockchain-based federated learning framework and a protocol to transparently evaluate each participant's contribution, which protects all parties' privacy and transparently evaluates contributions based on the model updates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient logging and querying for blockchain-based cross-site genomic dataset access audit
Shuaicheng Ma,Yang Cao,Li Xiong +2 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors designed a blockchain-based log system which can provide a light-weight and widely compatible module for existing blockchain platforms, which won the third place of the 2018 iDASH competition.

Shuaicheng Ma,Yang Cao,Li Xiong +2 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a blockchain-based federated learning framework and a protocol to transparently evaluate each participant's contribution, which protects all parties privacy in the model building phase and transparently evaluates contributions based on the model updates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Benchmarking blockchain-based gene-drug interaction data sharing methods: A case study from the iDASH 2019 secure genome analysis competition blockchain track.
Tsung-Ting Kuo,Tyler Bath,Shuaicheng Ma,Nicholas D. Pattengale,Meng Yang,Yang Cao,Corey M. Hudson,Jihoon Kim,Kai Post,Li Xiong,Lucila Ohno-Machado +10 more
TL;DR: Tung et al. as discussed by the authors developed three blockchain-based methods to share patient records on gene-drug interactions: Query Index, Index Everything, and Dual-Scenario Indexing, which achieved a runtime of about 60 seconds for importing 4,000 genedrug interaction records from four sites, and about 0.5 seconds for a data retrieval query.

Effcient logging and querying for Blockchain-based cross-site genomic dataset access audit
Shuaicheng Ma,Yang Cao,Li Xiong +2 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Blockchain can be used to build a time and space efficient log and query genomic dataset audit trail and provides a promising solution for sharing genomic data with accountability requirement across multiple sites.
