Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of cholesterol absorption and synthesis in rats by sesamin.

TL;DR: Since sesamin lowered both serum and liver cholesterol levels by inhibiting absorption and synthesis of cholesterol simultaneously, it deserves further study as a possible hypocholesterolemic agent of natural origin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coil embolization of bleeding visceral pseudoaneurysms following pancreatectomy: the importance of early angiography.

TL;DR: An emergency angiography should be considered in all patients who develop either a sentinel or massive gastrointestinal bleed following pancreatectomy irrespective of suspected intra-abdominal sepsis, and Transcatheter arterial embolization allows temporary control of massive hemorrhage and hemodynamic stabilization in most cases, and prevents the need for high-risk emergency surgery.
Journal Article

Suppressive effect of sesamin against 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]-anthracene induced rat mammary carcinogenesis.

TL;DR: The inhibitory effect of sesamin on DMBA-induced mammary carcinogenesis may be ascribed, at least in part, to immunopotentiation and increased antioxidative activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laparoscopically assisted distal gastrectomy with standard radical lymph node dissection for gastric cancer

TL;DR: Depending on surgeons’ technical proficiency, LADG can be used with standard radical lymph node dissection for patients with gastric cancers and provides several advantages similar to those of limited lymph nodes dissection (D1+alpha).
Journal ArticleDOI

Laparoscopically assisted distal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer: is it superior to open surgery?

TL;DR: Although LG requires longer surgical time, this retrospective study suggests that it is superior to open surgery in terms of faster postoperative recoveries, shorter hospital stays, and cosmetic outcomes.
