A survey on wireless sensor networks for smart grid

The primary objective of this research work is to study and investigate the performance measures of Reactive protocols (AODV, TORA) and Proactive protocols (DSDV) routing protocols of MANET using TCP & CBR based traffic models. In this paper we will simulate the environment used for analyzing, evaluating and implementing AODV, DSDV and TORA routing protocols in MANET, to analyze the performance of above said protocols based on Packet Delivery Ratio, Average End-to-End Delay and Throughput. We will investigate the effect of change in number of nodes on MANET routing protocols. Here, we will analyze and compare the performance of MANET routing protocols based on both CBR and TCP based traffic patterns. We have used the NS-2 simulator for performing various simulations and used awk scripts for analyzing the results.

An ad hoc network is often defined as an “infrastructureless” network, meaning a network without the usual routing infrastructure like fixed routers and routing backbones. Typically, the ad hoc nodes are mobile and the underlying communication medium is wireless. Each ad hoc node may be capable of acting as a router.it’s charactrizied by multihop wireless connection and frequently changing networks.we compare the performance of on-demand routing protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks are distributed cache updating for the dynamic source routing protocol(DSR) and ad hoc on-demand distance vector routing (AODV).the simulation model of the medium access control(MAC) layer is evaluting the performance of MANET protocols.DSR and AODV protocols share similar behavours.we evalute the both on demand protocols DSR and AODV based on packet delivery ratio , packet delivery latency,mobility variation with total number of errors, packet and normalized routing overhead,end-to-end delay by varying in node density.the performance and characterictics are explained by the graph models.

Performance Evalution of MANET Routing Protocols using Reference Point Group Mobility and Random WayPoint Models

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a wireless network that uses multi-hop peer to peer routing. A user can move anytime in an ad hoc scenario and, as a result, such a network needs to have routing protocols which can adopt dynamically changing topology. To accomplish this, a number of ad hoc routing protocols have been proposed and implemented such as, Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector routing (AODV), Fisheye State Routing (FSR) and Location-Aided Routing (LAR). This paper compares the major characteristics of these protocols such as, routing messages overhead, throughput and end to end delay using a parallel discrete event-driven simulator, GloMoSim. The experimental results show that FSR protocol has low control overhead compared with AODV and LAR. Regarding the throughput, AODV has a high throughput compared with the other considered protocols. Considering the end to end delay, LAR protocol shows better performance over FSR and AODV protocols.

Performance Measurement of Some Mobile Ad Hoc Network Routing Protocols

A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a kind of wireless ad-hoc network, and is a self-configuring network of mobile routers connected wirelessly. MANET may operate in a standalone fashion, or may be connected to the larger Internet. Many routing protocols have been developed for MANETs over the past few years. This project evaluated three specific MANET routing protocols which are Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Dynamic MANET On-demand routing protocol (DYMO) to better understand the major characteristics of these routing protocols. Different performance aspects were investigated in this project including; packet delivery ratio, routing overhead, throughput and average end-to-end delay. This project used Linux as an operating system based platform and discrete event simulator NS-2 as simulation software to compare the three MANET routing protocols. This project’s results indicated that all routing protocols perform well according to the performance metrics that have been selected. For packet delivery ratio metric, performance of AODV, DSR and DYMO routing protocols are quite similar to each other. The DSR performance is better compared to AODV and DYMO and has stable normalized routing overhead. In terms of throughput, DYMO routing protocol performs the best as compared to AODV and DSR. Finally, for average end to end delay, DYMO and AODV perform well in comparison with DSR.

Winning the Needs of the Gen Z: Gamified Health Awareness Campaign in Defeating COVID-19 Pandemic

The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is impactful on all aspects of individuals’ lives, particularly mental health due to the fear and spirituality associated with the pandemic. Thus, purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among fear, spirituality, and mental health on COVID-19 among adults in Malaysia. This study also examines spirituality as a mediator in relationship between fear and mental health. The study involved around 280 adults in Malaysia. This research is a quantitative study. Data analysis method (SEM-PLS) has been used for data analysis. Based on descriptive analysis, mental health questionnaire indicated that 60.0% of them are at a poor level of mental health whereas 57.5% of respondents showed a moderate level of COVID-19 fear, and 60.4% of respondents owned moderate level of spiritual well-being. The results also demonstrated that respondents that have a high level of fear would have a high level of mental health; interestingly, those with a high level of spirituality will have a lower level of mental health. Findings indicated that spirituality significantly mediated the relationship between fear and mental health. This research will help to demonstrate how important spirituality values to control mental health to be more positive among adults in Malaysia. The main contributions of this study are to help come out with new intervention method for those who are mentally ill and need help.
