Journal ArticleDOI

Fullerene derivatives with increased dielectric constants

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that introducing triethylene glycol monoethyl ether (teg) side chains into fulleropyrrolidines increases the dielectric constant by ~46 percent without devaluation of optical properties, electron mobility and the energy level of the compound.
Journal ArticleDOI

Side-chain effects on N-type organic thermoelectrics : A case study of fullerene derivatives

TL;DR: In this article, the polarity and side chain length have been studied for n-type organic thermoelectrics of a series of fullerene derivatives and it was found that the polar EG side chains can enable better miscibility with the polar dopant than the alkyl side chain, which leads to more than 5-fold enhancement of doping efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rough Electrode Creates Excess Capacitance in Thin-Film Capacitors

TL;DR: This work experimentally and theoretically shows that the electrical capacitance of thin-film capacitors with realistic interface roughness is significantly larger than the value predicted by the parallel-plate capacitor equation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deposition of LiF onto Films of Fullerene Derivatives Leads to Bulk Doping

TL;DR: Capacitance measurements and electrical conductivity analysis show that thin films of fullerene derivatives and their mixtures with polymers are unintentionally doped upon deposition of LiF, which has profound implications for the development and characterization of organic photovoltaic devices.
