Auxin Metabolism and Function in the Multicellular Brown Alga Ectocarpus siliculosus
Aude Le Bail,Bernard Billoud,Nathalie Kowalczyk,Mariusz Kowalczyk,Morgane Gicquel,Sophie Le Panse,Sarah Stewart,Delphine Scornet,Jeremy Mark Cock,Karin Ljung,Bénédicte Charrier +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that auxin indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is detectable in mature E. siliculosus organisms and that it is present mainly at the apices of the filaments in the early stages of development, suggesting that IAA is used by the brown alga Ectocarpus to relay cell-cell positional information and induces a signaling pathway different from that known in land plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dinomyces arenysensis gen. et sp. nov. (Rhizophydiales, Dinomycetaceae fam. nov.), a chytrid infecting marine dinoflagellates.
Frédéric Lepelletier,Frédéric Lepelletier,Sergey Karpov,Elisabet Alacid,Sophie Le Panse,Sophie Le Panse,Estelle Bigeard,Estelle Bigeard,Esther Garcés,Christian Jeanthon,Christian Jeanthon,Laure Guillou,Laure Guillou +12 more
TL;DR: This marine chytridial parasitoid is described as a new genus and species, Dinomyces arenysensis, within the Dinomycetaceae fam.
Journal ArticleDOI
Revision of the Genus Micromonas Manton et Parke (Chlorophyta, Mamiellophyceae), of the Type Species M. pusilla (Butcher) Manton & Parke and of the Species M. commoda van Baren, Bachy and Worden and Description of Two New Species Based on the Genetic and Phenotypic Characterization of Cultured Isolates
Nathalie Simon,Elodie Foulon,Daphné Grulois,Christophe Six,Yves Desdevises,Marie Latimier,Florence Le Gall,Margot Tragin,Aude Houdan,Evelyne Derelle,Fabien Jouenne,Dominique Marie,Sophie Le Panse,Daniel Vaulot,Birger Marin +14 more
TL;DR: The authors performed a detailed analysis of variations in morphology, pigment content, and sequences of the nuclear-encoded small-subunit rRNA gene and the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS2) from strains isolated worldwide.
Journal ArticleDOI
3-D organization of ribosomal transcription units after DRB inhibition of RNA polymerase II transcription.
Sophie Le Panse,Claude Masson,Laurent Héliot,Jean-Marc Chassery,Henriette Roberte Junéra,Danièle Hernandez-Verdun +5 more
TL;DR: The reversibility of this organization after removal of DRB indicated that the beads in the necklace are certainly the elementary functional domain of the nucleolus, and lead us to suggest that the organization of a functional domain, presumably corresponding to a single gene, can be studied by in situ approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
ETOILE Regulates Developmental Patterning in the Filamentous Brown Alga Ectocarpus siliculosus
Aude Le Bail,Aude Le Bail,Bernard Billoud,Bernard Billoud,Sophie Le Panse,Sabine Chenivesse,Sabine Chenivesse,Bénédicte Charrier,Bénédicte Charrier +8 more
TL;DR: The first morphogenetic mutant, étoile (etl), is produced in the brown algal model Ectocarpus siliculosus and the role of the ECM and of novel transmembrane proteins in cell–cell communication during the establishment of the developmental pattern in this brown alga is highlighted.
