Hardness and algorithms for rainbow connection

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the problem of computing the smallest number of colors that is needed to make an edge-colored graph rainbow connected is NP-hard, and that it is already NP-complete to decide if rc(G)=2.

Hardness and Algorithms for Rainbow Connection

TL;DR: It is proved that for every ε>0, a connected graph with minimum degree at least εn has bounded rainbow connection, where the bound depends only on ε, and a corresponding coloring can be constructed in polynomial time.

Hardness and Algorithms for Rainbow Connectivity

TL;DR: This paper gives the first proof that computing $rc(G)$ is NP-Hard, and proves that for every $\epsilon >0$, a connected graph with minimum degree at least $\ep silon n$ has bounded rainbow connectivity, where the bound depends only on $\ep Silon$, and the corresponding coloring can be constructed in polynomial time.

Monotonicity Testing and Shortest-Path Routing on the Cube.

TL;DR: In this paper, a lower bound of Ω(n/∈) queries for one-sided non-adaptive testing of monotonicity over the n-dimensional hypercube was shown.

Air pollution from fireworks during festival of lights (Deepawali) in Howrah, India - a case study

TL;DR: In this paper, the impacts of firework displays on ambient air quality in Kolkata have been evaluated for six consecutive days during Deepawali in Salkia, a densely populated residential area near Kota, India.
