Insights into Membrane Curvature Sensing and Membrane Remodeling by Intrinsically Disordered Proteins and Protein Regions
TL;DR: In this article , the basic features of disordered proteins and regions, the motifs in such proteins that encode the function, membrane remodeling by disordered protein and regions and assays that may be employed to investigate curvature sensing and generation by ordered/disordered proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the stability of thin-walled circular cylindrical shells under static and periodic radial loading
TL;DR: In this article , the dynamic behavior of cylindrical shells subjected to static and time-varying (periodic) radial loading was studied using the Floquet theory and stability charts in the plane of forcing parameters, namely, the static component of the pressure, the amplitude and frequency of the fluctuating component of pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sorting of proteins with shape and curvature anisotropy on a lipid bilayer tube.
Pranav Vyas,Sovan Das +1 more
TL;DR: This work presents a model of sorting of the proteins while including the effects of softness in their interaction potentials, shape anisotropy in the protein structure, and curvature anisotropic in the interactions with the membrane, and observes that shape an isotropy adversely affects the sorting of proteins to a high curvature region, whereas curvatureAnisotrop and softer interaction between proteins favor sorting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Indentation of geometrically exact beams
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigate arbitrarily large indentations of beams in two dimensions by a frictionless and rigid cylindrical punch whose axis is perpendicular to the plane of the beam, and they demonstrate the importance of utilizing a nonlinear beam formulation by comparing their results with the predictions of theories predicated on small deformations.
Dissertation
Evaluation of Spermatozoal Rna Extraction Methods
TL;DR: A modified Trizol method was developed which resulted in increased yield (38.60 ng/μL) and purity (A260/A280: 1.923) and was aimed to compare different RNA isolation methods from sperm and testicular tissue.
