Abstract: This research aims to develop Indonesian Language textbooks with multiculturalism and character education for traditional poetry writing learning. This research uses a research and development approach until the discovery of a proper textbook. The subjects involved in this study were 101 elementary school fourth-graders, 33 teachers, and 2 Indonesian language and literature learning experts. Data analysis techniques at the need analysis stage through interactive models, and data analysis at the product testing stage using quantitative techniques with non-independent t-test statistics. Preliminary studies found that teachers and students needed creative writing skills textbooks developed by integrating the values of multiculturalism and character education. Textbook development referred to aspects of content, language, presentation, and graphics. Limited textbook product testing using t-test showed that t-obtained= -4,265 and t-table on α = 5 % is 2,064, so H0 is rejected. Broad testing also resulted in t-obtained= -6,426 and t-table = 2,004, so it can be decided that H0 is rejected. Students' traditional poetry writing skills after learning using textbooks are better than before learning using textbooks. Thus it is concluded that the textbooks developed are inferred worthy of use by teachers and students to improve their writing skills in elementary school.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used simple correlation and multiple correlation to determine whether there is a relationship between reading habits and description writing skills; the relationship between grammar mastery and description skills; and the relationship of reading habits with mastery of grammar with description skills.
Abstract: This study aims to (1) determine whether there is a relationship between reading habits and description writing skills; (2) the relationship between grammar mastery and description writing skills; (3) the relationship between reading habits and mastery of grammar with description writing skills. This research uses a correlational method. The sample consisted of grade V students in 10 elementary schools, totaling 212 students. The data collection techniques used a descriptive writing test, a multiple choice test for grammar mastery, and a questionnaire for reading habits variable. Data were analyzed using simple correlation and multiple correlation. Based on the results of data analysis, the following conclusions are obtained: (1) there is a significant relationship between reading habits and description writing skills, r y1 = 0.606. The correlation coefficient tested using the t test, t count = 11.0464 > t table = 1.9713. (2) there is a significant relationship between grammar mastery and description writing skills with r y2 = 0.697, the significance of the correlation coefficient is calculated using the t test, t count = 14.0993> t table = 1.9713. 3) there is a significant relationship between reading habits and grammar mastery with descriptive writing skills as much as r y12 = 0.779. The results of the significance test using the F test showed that the F count = 161.88> F table = 3.0391 obtained from the F table with df 209 level α = 0.05. So it can be concluded that reading habits and grammar mastery have a significant relationship with description writing skills.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a learning model of writing experience stories that can be used to improve the writing skills of elementary school students in Banyumas Regency, Indonesia.
Abstract: Literacy is one’s ability to digest information through listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. A child is expected to master the four skills and be able to implement them in everyday life. The four language skills are a unity that is closely interconnected. A person’s language reflects his thoughts. The more skillful one uses language, the clearer one’s mind is. That is why cultural literacy needs to be developed to acquire language skills. From the initial survey result, it is known that the ability of the elementary school students in Banyumas Regency in writing personal experience stories is still low compared to other literacy skills. Therefore, the development of effective learning model to improve writing skill is needed. The development of learning model needs to be done because not all learning models can be effectively used in class. One of the learning models of writing experience stories that can be developed is a learning model of writing dialogue-based stories, uses a scientific approach, and contains edutainment elements. With this model, the learning of writing experience stories is easier to be applied by teachers, interesting, and fun for students.
