Superhydrophobic Self‐Cleaning Membranes Made by Electrospinning
Noah U. Naef,Stefan Seeger +1 more
TL;DR: In this article , a superhydrophobic and photocatalytic composite fiber material is developed using polystyrene polydimethylsiloxane and graphitic nitride and thoroughly characterized.
Laser microdissection of a colon cancer specimen with subsequent RNA isolation, mRNA amplification and microarray hybridization Laser microdissection with the MMI Cellcut ® allows the efficient isolation of specific cells. The collected cells yield only tiny amounts of isolated RNA that require dedicated mRNA amplification technology, and ExpressArt ® from AmpTec offers the unique possibility to exploit the complete samples, irrespective of RNA amounts and without impairing sample comparability.

International comparison CCQM-P189: particle number concentration (100 to 20 000 cm-3) and particle charge concentration (0.15 to 3 fC cm-3)
Andrew S. Brown,Paul Quincey,Volker Ebert,Andreas Nowak,Jordan Tompkins,Isabel Hessey,Krzysztof Ciupek,Olav Werhahn,Konstantina Vasilatou,Felix Lüönd,T. Macé,François Gaie-Levrel,L. Bregonzio-Rozier,N. G. Oganyan,D. Belenkii,Y. Sakurai,Yoshiko Murashima,Jinsang Jung,Stefan Seeger,Alfred Wiedensohler,Thomas Tuch,Maik Merkel,Kay Weinhold +22 more
TL;DR: The results of CCQM-P189, a pilot comparison between 10 laboratories which tested the participants' capability to measure particle number concentration (in the range of 100 to 20 000 cm-3) using condensation particle counters (CPCs), and particle charge concentration using aerosol electrometers (AEs) as mentioned in this paper .
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Optical tweezers as a tool for the functional analysis of neuronal cell membrane receptors
TL;DR: In this paper, optical tweezers are used to quantify neuron interactions with glycoproteins of the extracellular matrix of different nervous cell types, including tenascin-C, laminin-1 and fibronectin coated polystyrol beads.
