Microbial deterioration of stone monuments--an updated overview

TL;DR: A critical review of work on microbial biofilms on buildings of historic interest, including recent innovations resulting from molecular biology, is presented and microbial activities causing degradation are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bioluminescence of Vibrio fischeri in continuous culture: optimal conditions for stability and intensity of photoemission

TL;DR: This system provided a reliable long-termContinuous cultivation of the bioluminescent bacterium, Vibrio fischeri NRRL-B-11177 in a fermenter for the reproducible measurement of perturbation of V. f Fischeri by monitoring changes in luminescence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reversible Multielectron Release from Redox-Active Three-Dimensional Molecular Barrels with Ruthenium-Alkenyl Moieties.

TL;DR: In this paper , the shape of twisted trigonal prisms was used to synthesize three-dimensional molecular barrels with high yields from dinuclear ruthenium-vinyl clamps and tritopic triphenylamine-derived carboxylate linkers and characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy including 1H-1H COSY and 1H DOSY measurements.
