Opening the Gate: Framework Flexibility in ZIF-8 Explored by Experiments and Simulations
David Fairen-Jimenez,Stephen A. Moggach,Michael T. Wharmby,Paul A. Wright,Simon Parsons,Tina Düren +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the ZIF-8 structure is modified by gas adsorption uptake in the same way as it is at a very high pressure due to a swing effect in the imidazolate linkers, giving access to the porosity.
Journal ArticleDOI
A record anisotropy barrier for a single-molecule magnet.
Constantinos J. Milios,Alina Vinslava,Wolfgang Wernsdorfer,Stephen A. Moggach,Simon Parsons,Spyros P. Perlepes,George Christou,Euan K. Brechin +7 more
TL;DR: Structural distortion in a [Mn6] complex switches the magnetic exchange from antiferro- to ferromagnetic, resulting in a single-molecule magnet with a record anisotropy barrier.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Effect of Pressure on ZIF‐8: Increasing Pore Size with Pressure and the Formation of a High‐Pressure Phase at 1.47 GPa
Journal ArticleDOI
A potent cytotoxic photoactivated platinum complex
Fiona Mackay,Julie A. Woods,Julie A. Woods,Pavla Heringova,Jana Kasparkova,Ana M. Pizarro,Ana M. Pizarro,Stephen A. Moggach,Simon Parsons,Viktor Brabec,Peter J. Sadler +10 more
TL;DR: The trans diazido PtIV complex 1 is remarkably stable in the dark, even in the presence of cellular reducing agents, and is a candidate for use in photoactivated cancer chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reversible pressure-induced amorphization of a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-4)
Thomas D. Bennett,Petra Simoncic,Petra Simoncic,Stephen A. Moggach,Fabia Gozzo,Piero Macchi,David A. Keen,Jin-Chong Tan,Anthony K. Cheetham +8 more
TL;DR: The reversible pressure-induced amorphization of a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-4, [Zn(Im)(2)]) occurs irrespective of pore occupancy and takes place via a novel high pressure phase (Zif-4-I) when solvent molecules are present in the pores.
