TL;DR: In this paper, a technique for modifying the laser power spectrum by use of an acousto-optic modulator is described, and the theory of the power spectrum resulting from frequency modulation by Gaussian noise is reviewed.
Abstract: A technique for modifying the laser power spectrum by use of an acousto-optic modulator is described. The theory of the power spectrum resulting from frequency modulation by Gaussian noise is reviewed, and several examples of broadened laser power spectra are presented.

TL;DR: In this paper, collisional narrowing of the Q branch of the Raman spectrum for the (000) → (100) transition in CO2 at very low pressures was observed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement of the photoelectron angular distribution in non-resonant multiphoton ionisation of atomic sodium is presented. But the angular distribution observed contains significant contributions of trigonometric functions of the type cos(2mx) up to m=5.
Abstract: The authors report a measurement of the photoelectron angular distribution in non-resonant multiphoton ionisation of atomic sodium. Linearly polarised Nd:YAG laser radiation was used to ionise ground (32S12/) state sodium atoms in a non-resonant five-photon process. The angular distribution observed contains significant contributions of trigonometric functions of the type cos(2mx) up to m=5. The absolute ionisation cross section is compared with previous measurements.
