Journal ArticleDOI

Leishmania mexicana: comparative fine structure of amastigotes and promastigotes in vitro and in vivo.

TL;DR: The results along with the biologic and antigenic comparisons indicate that amastigotes obtained from axenic cultures are related very closely to amastsigotes from infected hamster footpads and that their relationship to promastigote is far more distant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trypanosoma cruzi: ultrastructure of morphogenesis in vitro and in vivo.

TL;DR: The Golgi complex in trypomastigotes from cultures and from animals was active, suggesting its possible role for the production of the surface coat in this structural stage.
Journal ArticleDOI

Marked increase in Ia-bearing macrophages during Trypanosoma cruzi infection.

TL;DR: It is speculated that such a dramatic change in the composition of the macrophage may be an important immunoregulatory event in trypanosomiasis inasmuch as Ia-positive cells are essential for most T-cell reactions.
Book ChapterDOI
