Use and interpretation of logistic regression in habitat-selection studies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of the application and interpretation of Logistic Regression under three sampling designs: random, case-control, and use-availability, for habitat use-nonuse studies employing random sampling and can be used to directly model the conditional probability of use.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temporal, Spatial, and Environmental Influences on the Demographics of Grizzly Bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the influence of an array of individual, temporal, and spatial covariates on demographic vigor and identified an important relationship between λ and where a bear resides within the GYE.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparison of confidence interval methods for habitat use-availability studies

TL;DR: This paper presents results of a simulation study comparing the performance of these intervals with 3 alternatives; the usual method with a continuity correction factor, and 2 methods of computing confidence intervals for multinomial proportions, which are superior and should be used in place of the binomial intervals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Singular Value Decomposition Analysis and Canonical Correlation Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between singular value decomposition analysis (SVD) and canonical correlation analysis (CCA) is clarified and some problems associated with interpreting results of both SVD and CCA are discussed.
