Optimization of the high pressure operation regime for enhanced neutron yield in a plasma focus device
J. M. Koh,Rajdeep Singh Rawat,A. Patran,T. Zhang,D. Wong,Stuart Victor Springham,T.L. Tan,Sing Lee,Paul Lee +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the average total neutron yield using an indium foil activation detector, at various combinations of filling gas pressures (including the higher pressure operation regime) of deuterium, capacitor bank charging voltages, anode lengths and insulator sleeve lengths to optimize the neutron yield from the NX2 Plasma Focus device.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlated deuteron energy spectra and neutron yield for a 3 kJ plasma focus
TL;DR: A magnetic spectrometer positioned on the axis of a 3 kJ plasma focus device has been used to measure energy spectra of deuterons emitted from the pinch region of the focus, while an indium activation detector was employed to measure the associated neutron flux as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of the 12C
S.N. Dancer,I. J. D. MacGregor,Annand,Anthony I I,G.I. Crawford,S.J. Hall,J. D. Kellie,J. C. McGeorge,R.O. Owens,P.A. Wallace,D. Branford,Stuart Victor Springham,Alan Shotter,B. Schoch,Vogt M,R. Beck,G. Liesenfeld +16 more
TL;DR: Tagged-photon measuremens of the /sup 12/C(..gamma..,pn) reaction in the photon energy range 83--133 MeV are reported in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical experiments on plasma focus neutron yield versus pressure compared with laboratory experiments
TL;DR: In this article, numerical experiments are carried out, using the Lee model code, incorporating a beam-target mechanism to compute the Yn versus pressure data of plasma focus devices PF-400 J and FN-II.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lithium-doped two-dimensional perovskite scintillator for wide-range radiation detection
Aozhen Xie,Aozhen Xie,Chathuranga Hettiarachchi,Francesco Maddalena,Marcin E. Witkowski,Michał Makowski,Winicjusz Drozdowski,Arramel Arramel,Andrew T. S. Wee,Stuart Victor Springham,Phan Quoc Vuong,Hongjoo Kim,Christophe Dujardin,Philippe Coquet,Philippe Coquet,Philippe Coquet,Muhammad Danang Birowosuto,Muhammad Danang Birowosuto,Cuong Dang,Cuong Dang +19 more
TL;DR: Li-doped phenethylammonium lead bromide (PEA)2PbBr4 perovskite crystals have shown great potential as X- and γ-ray scintillators due to their high light yield, fast decay rate, and low fabrication cost as mentioned in this paper.
