Bilocal quantum criticality
TL;DR: In this article, a bilocal quantum critical theory is proposed, which arises from the coupling of a Fermi surface to SU(2) charged bosons at criticality, and a strongly-coupled fixed point is identified, with a dynamic critical exponent z g 1 and a finite enhancement of specific heat near the critical point.
Journal ArticleDOI
Graphene Reveals Its Strange Side
TL;DR: The phase diagram of magic-angle graphene is similar to that of copper oxide hightemperature superconductors, with an insulating region next to a dome-shaped superconducting region as discussed by the authors.
Underpinning Data: Atomic-scale Electronic Structure of the Cuprate d-Symmetry Form Factor Density Wave State
Mohammad Hamidian,Stephen D. Edkins,Chung Koo Kim,J. C. Séamus Davis,Andrew P. Mackenzie,H. Eisaki,S. Uchida,Michael J. Lawler,Eun-Ah Kim,Subir Sachdev,K. Fujita +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use energy-resolved sublattice visualization of electronic structure and reveal that the characteristic energy of the dFF-DW modulations is actually the pseudogap energy ∆ 1.

Statistical mechanics of strange metals and black holes
TL;DR: A colloquium style review of the connections between the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model and strange metals without quasiparticles, and between the SYK model and the quantum properties of black holes is given in this paper .
