Proceedings ArticleDOI

Information-theoretic co-clustering

TL;DR: This work presents an innovative co-clustering algorithm that monotonically increases the preserved mutual information by intertwining both the row and column clusterings at all stages and demonstrates that the algorithm works well in practice, especially in the presence of sparsity and high-dimensionality.
Journal ArticleDOI

A divisive information theoretic feature clustering algorithm for text classification

TL;DR: A new information-theoretic divisive algorithm for feature/word clustering and apply it to text classification is proposed and it is shown that feature clustering is an effective technique for building smaller class models in hierarchical classification.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Enhanced word clustering for hierarchical text classification

TL;DR: A new information-theoretic divisive algorithm for word clustering applied to text classification is proposed and it is shown that feature clustering is an effective technique for building smaller class models in hierarchical classification.
