Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation of glyoxalase I activity with cell proliferation inDatura callus culture

TL;DR: With the addition of mitotic inhibitors, vinblastine and methylglyoxal in the growth medium, the enzyme activity was inhibited by 92 percent and 50 percent respectively, at the most effective concentration and the callus growth was also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation of glyoxalase I during the cell division cycle and its homology with auxin regulated genes

TL;DR: Analysis of glyoxalase I cDNA sequence from soybean shows significant homology with auxin inducible genes particularly Nt107 and limited but strong similarity with identified plant mitotic cyclins, implicating glyoxAlase I in possible relationship with certain cell division regulating factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Red light-mediated changes in inositol phospholipids and phosphatidylcholine in Brassica hypocotyls

TL;DR: The effect of a red light stimulus on rapid turnover of phosphoinositides and phosphatidylcholine when incubation was carried out is investigated and it is shown that the turnover rate increases with increasing red light intensity.
Book ChapterDOI

Effect of Squaric Acid and Isoascorbate on Glyoxalase-I Cell Division and DNA Synthesis in Datura Callus

TL;DR: The presence of the enzyme glyoxalase was reported by Neuberg and Dakin and Dudley in 1913 and since then, its existence has not been reported in higher plants.
