Macrovesicular hepatic steatosis in living liver donors: use of CT for quantitative and qualitative assessment.
Seong Ho Park,Pyo Nyun Kim,Kyoung Won Kim,Sang Won Lee,Seong Eon Yoon,Sung Won Park,Hyun Kwon Ha,Moon-Gyu Lee,Shin Hwang,Sung-Gyu Lee,Eun Sil Yu,Eun Yoon Cho +11 more
TL;DR: Diagnostic performance of unenhanced computed tomography for quantitative assessment of macrovesicular steatosis is not clinically acceptable, however, Unenhanced CT provides high performance in qualitative diagnosis of Macrovesicular Steatosis of 30% or greater.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-invasive assessment of hepatic steatosis: Prospective comparison of the accuracy of imaging examinations
Seung Soo Lee,Seong Ho Park,Hye Jin Kim,So Yeon Kim,Min-Yeong Kim,Dae Yoon Kim,Dong Jin Suh,Kang Mo Kim,Mi Hyun Bae,Joo Yeon Lee,Sung-Gyu Lee,Eun Sil Yu +11 more
TL;DR: DGE-MRI is the most accurate method for the diagnosis and quantitative estimation of HS and may be the preferred imaging examination for the non-invasive assessment of HS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expanded indication criteria of living donor liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma at one large-volume center.
Sung-Gyu Lee,Shin Hwang,Deok-Bog Moon,Chul-Soo Ahn,Ki-Hun Kim,Kyu-Bo Sung,Gi-Young Ko,Kwang-Min Park,Tae-Yong Ha,Gi-Won Song +9 more
TL;DR: The currently available indication criteria of living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have high prognostic power but insufficient discriminatory power, so these expanded criteria for LDLT eligibility of HCC patients broaden the indications for patient selection and can more accurately identify patients who will benefit from LDLT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and risk factors of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in potential living liver donors in Korea: a review of 589 consecutive liver biopsies in a single center.
Ji-Young Lee,Kang Mo Kim,Sung-Gyu Lee,Eunsil Yu,Young-Suk Lim,Han Chu Lee,Young-Hwa Chung,Yung Sang Lee,D.J. Suh +8 more
TL;DR: NAFLD was highly prevalent in potential living liver donors and the independent risk factors for significant steatosis were older age, obesity and hypertriglyceridemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
A complete treatment of adult living donor liver transplantation: a review of surgical technique and current challenges to expand indication of patients
TL;DR: This review focuses on recent innovations of surgical techniques, safe donor selection, current strategies to expand ALDLT with broadened patient selection criteria and important aspects of teamwork required for success.
