Journal ArticleDOI

T-cell specific immunosuppression by prodigiosin isolated from Serratia marcescens.

TL;DR: Prodigiosin was isolated from the culture broth of Serratia marcescens B-1231 and did not cause death in vitro to lymphocytes at effective concentrations and also did not show toxicity in vivo to lymphoid organs at effective dosages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel intracellular GH10 xylanase from Cohnella laeviribosi HY-21: biocatalytic properties and alterations of substrate specificities by site-directed mutagenesis of Trp residues.

TL;DR: The novel intracellular GH10 xylanase (iXylC) gene (1023-bp) of Cohnella laeviribosi HY-21 encoded a protein consisting of 340 amino acids with a deduced molecular mass of 39,330Da that exhibited considerable cleavage activities for p-nitrophenylxylopyranoside and PNP-cellobioside, indicating that i XylC is a unique GH10 enzyme.
Journal ArticleDOI

GERI-BP001 compounds, new inhibitors of acyl-CoA: cholesterol acyltransferase from Aspergillus fumigatus F37. I. Production, isolation, and physico-chemical and biological properties.

TL;DR: GERI-BP001 compounds, new inhibitors of acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT), were isolated from a culture broth of Aspergillus fumigatus F37 by acetone extraction, EtOAc extraction, SiO2 column chromatography, and reverse phase HPLC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chaetoatrosin A, a novel chitin synthase II inhibitor produced by Chaetomium atrobrunneum F449.

TL;DR: This compound showed antifungal activities against Rhizoctonia solani, Pyricularia oryzae, Botrytis cinerea, Cryptococcus neoformans and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
