Journal ArticleDOI

Blocking tumor cell migration and invasion with biphenyl isoxazole derivative KRIBB3, a synthetic molecule that inhibits Hsp27 phosphorylation.

TL;DR: Overall, the results demonstrate that KRIBB3 inhibits tumor cell migration and invasion by blocking protein kinase C-dependent phosphorylation of Hsp27 through its direct binding to HSP27.
Journal ArticleDOI

T-cell specific immunosuppression by prodigiosin isolated from Serratia marcescens.

TL;DR: Prodigiosin was isolated from the culture broth of Serratia marcescens B-1231 and did not cause death in vitro to lymphocytes at effective concentrations and also did not show toxicity in vivo to lymphoid organs at effective dosages.
Journal ArticleDOI

2′-Benzoyloxycinnamaldehyde Induces Apoptosis in Human Carcinoma via Reactive Oxygen Species

TL;DR: Results suggest that BCA is a good drug candidate for cancer therapy and suggest that reactive oxygen species are major regulator of BCA-induced apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-tumor abietane diterpenes from the cones of Sequoia sempervirens.

TL;DR: A new abietane, namely, 20-hydroxyferruginol was isolated from the cones of Sequoia sempervirens and strongly inhibited colon, lung, and breast human tumors and oncogene transformed cells with GI 2-5 microg/mL.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antitumor activity of flavones isolated from Artemisia argyi

TL;DR: These flavones inhibited farnesyl protein transferase with IC 50 values of 25 - 200 microg/mL and inhibited proliferation of a couple of tumor cell lines and also inhibited neovascularization in a chick chorioallantoic membrane assay.
