A biomarker panel for acute graft-versus-host disease

TL;DR: Cox regression analysis revealed that the biomarker panel predicted survival independently of GVHD severity, and a panel of 4 biomarkers can confirm the diagnosis ofGVHD in patients at onset of clinical symptoms of GVsHD and provide prognostic information independent of GvHD severity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elafin Is a Biomarker of Graft-Versus-Host Disease of the Skin

TL;DR: Elafin has significant diagnostic and prognostic value as a biomarker of skin GVHD and is validated with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in samples from 492 patients, showing that elafin concentrations may serve as a noninvasive diagnostic test as well as a prognostic marker in determining GV HD grading in the clinic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current and emerging strategies for the prevention of graft-versus-host disease

TL;DR: The clinical evidence for emerging approaches in the prevention of GVHD is assessed, including therapies targeting T cells or B cells, the use of mesenchymal stem cells, chemo-cytokine antagonists, and theUse of novel molecular regulators that target multiple cell types simultaneously, including atorvastatin, bortezomib, and epigenetic modulators.
Journal ArticleDOI

Etanercept plus methylprednisolone as initial therapy for acute graft-versus-host disease

TL;DR: Etanercept plus steroids as initial therapy for acute GVHD results in a substantial majority of CRs, and patients treated with etanercept were more likely to achieve CR than those treated with steroids alone.
