Journal ArticleDOI
Intracisternal cyclodextrin prevents cerebellar dysfunction and Purkinje cell death in feline Niemann-Pick type C1 disease
Charles H. Vite,Jessica H. Bagel,Gary P. Swain,Maria Prociuk,Tracey Sikora,Veronika M. Stein,Patricia O'Donnell,Therese Ruane,Sarah Ward,Alexandra Crooks,Su Li,Elizabeth A. Mauldin,Susan Stellar,Marc De Meulder,Mark L. Kao,Daniel S. Ory,Cristin Davidson,Marie T. Vanier,Steven U. Walkley +18 more
TL;DR: These studies in a feline animal model have provided critical data on efficacy and safety of drug administration directly into the central nervous system that will be important for advancing HPβCD into clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmacokinetics, efficacy and toxicity of different pegylated liposomal doxorubicin formulations in preclinical models: is a conventional bioequivalence approach sufficient to ensure therapeutic equivalence of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin products?
Rao N. V. S. Mamidi,Steve Weng,Steve Weng,Susan Stellar,Charles Wang,Ning Yu,Tony Huang,Alfred P. Tonelli,Michael F. Kelley,Anthony Angiuoli,Man-Cheong Fung +10 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that plasma pharmacokinetics and systemic exposure of doxorubicin did not correlate well with the antitumor activity and toxicity profiles forPLD products, and a conventional bioequivalence approach is not appropriate for establishing therapeutic equivalence of generic PLD products.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmacokinetics and distribution of 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin following a single intrathecal dose to cats
Mark L. Kao,Susan Stellar,Eric Solon,Alfred Lordi,Nicole Kasica,Gary P. Swain,Jessica H. Bagel,Brittney L. Gurda,Charles H. Vite +8 more
TL;DR: Tissue distribution was investigated in normal cats that received a single 120‐mg dose of [14C]‐HP‐β‐CD via the cerebellomedullary cistern (CBMC) and lumbar cistern, and radioactivity absorbed from the CBMC was widely distributed to cat tissues.
