Journal ArticleDOI
Intratumoral Heterogeneity of Bladder Cancer by Molecular Subtypes and Histologic Variants
Joshua I. Warrick,Gottfrid Sjödahl,Matthew Kaag,Jay D. Raman,Suzanne B. Merrill,Lauren Shuman,Guoli Chen,Vonn Walter,David J. DeGraff +8 more
TL;DR: It is found that different areas from the same tumor are often molecularly different, particularly in the basal-squamous subtype, and this biological diversity must be taken into account when interpreting clinical molecular tests performed on bladder cancer samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of PD-L1 and other immune markers in bladder urothelial carcinoma stratified by histologic variants and molecular subtypes.
Huili Li,Qingzhao Zhang,Lauren Shuman,Matthew Kaag,Jay D. Raman,Suzanne B. Merrill,David J. DeGraff,Joshua I. Warrick,Guoli Chen,Guoli Chen +9 more
TL;DR: The immune high group is enriched in higher CD3, PD-L1, and genomically-unstable molecular subtype, suggesting it may respond to checkpoint inhibitors, and a degree of intratumoral heterogeneity in immune markers in bladder cancer is identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Topical antiseptic at time of transrectal ultrasound prostate biopsy is associated with fewer severe clinical infections and improves antibiotic stewardship
Shayann Ramedani,Joseph Y. Clark,John J. Knoedler,Susan MacDonald,Matthew Kaag,Suzanne B. Merrill,Jay D. Raman +6 more
TL;DR: TRS at time of transrectal PNB was associated with decreased use of IV procedural antibiotics as well as decreased severity of infections post-biopsy, suggesting this simple technique enhances antibiotic stewardship while simultaneously improving quality outcomes of the procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitotic activity in noninvasive papillary urothelial carcinoma: its value in predicting tumor recurrence and comparison with the contemporary 2-tier grading system.
Michael Zaleski,Augustyna Gogoj,Vonn Walter,Jay D. Raman,Matthew Kaag,Suzanne B. Merrill,Joseph J. Drabick,Monika Joshi,Sheldon L. Holder,David J. DeGraff,Joshua I. Warrick +10 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that mitotic activity is associated with behavior of noninvasive papillary urothelial carcinoma and may be valuable as an adjunct to the contemporary grading system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Concurrent durvalumab and radiation therapy followed by adjuvant durvalumab in patients with locally advanced urothelial cancer of bladder (DUART): Btcrc-GU15-023.
Monika Joshi,Leonard Tuanquin,Matthew Kaag,Deepak Kilari,Sheldon L. Holder,Hamid Emamekhoo,Alexander Sankin,Suzanne B. Merrill,David J. DeGraff,Joshua I. Warrick,Hong Zheng,Ralph J. Hauke,Benjamin A. Gartrell,Mark N. Stein,Yousef Zakharia,Joseph J. Drabick +15 more
TL;DR: This study investigates if the combination of cisplatin and chemotherapy can be a viable combination for bladder cancer patients ineligible for surgery, unresectable or unable to undergo surgery.
