Journal ArticleDOI

Tungsten wire-array Z-pinch experiments at 200 TW and 2 MJ

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a 60 TW/5 MJ electrical accelerator located at Sandia National Laboratories to implode tungsten wire-array Z pinches, which achieved an x-ray power of ∼200 TW and an xray energy of nearly 2 MJ.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-temperature dynamic hohlraums on the pulsed power driver Z

TL;DR: In the concept of dynamic hohlraum, an imploding Z pinch is optically thick to its own radiation as mentioned in this paper, and the radiation may be trapped inside the pinch by colliding an outer Z-pinch liner onto an inner liner.
