Journal ArticleDOI

Enantiodifferentiating tetrahydrofuranylation of but-3-enyl carboxylates using optically active hypervalent iodine(III) reagents via a 1,3-dioxan-2-yl cation intermediate

TL;DR: Optically active methyl 2-[2-(diacetoxyiodo)phenoxy]propanoate and its derivative were prepared and used for oxygenation of but-3-enyl carboxylates leading to tetrahydrofuran-3]-carboxylate as an enantiomerically enriched form.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation-temperature dependence in enantioselective hydrogenation of unsaturated carboxylic acids over cinchonidine-modified Pd/C catalysts

TL;DR: The enantioselective hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated acids catalyzed by cinchonidine-modified Pd/C was found to be highly dependent on the pretreatment temperature of the catalyst.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural requirements for substrate in highly enantioselective hydrogenation over the cinchonidine-modified Pd/C

TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between substrate structure and enantioselectivity was studied for asymmetric hydrogenation of 42 different (E)- α, β -disubstituted acrylic acids (propenoic acids) over cinchonidine-modified Pd/C.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of the substrate structure on the stereoselectivity in an asymmetric hydrogenation of unsaturated carboxylic acids over cinchonidine-modified palladium catalyst

TL;DR: An enantiomeric ratio of 10:1 (82% ee) was achieved for the first time in the hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated acids with heterogeneous catalysts by designing the substrate structure to enhance the interaction with the catalyst, and to increase the intrinsic stereoselectivity.
