Freshwater mussel conservation: A global horizon scan of emerging threats and opportunities

TL;DR: In this article , a panel of 17 researchers and stakeholders from six continents submitted a total of 56 topics that were ranked and prioritized using a consensus-building Delphi technique to identify 14 emerging and poorly understood threats and opportunities for addressing the global conservation of freshwater mussels over the next decade.

Small monsters: Insect predation limits reproduction of yellow‐bellied toad Bombina variegata to ponds in their earliest successional stage

TL;DR: In this paper , a system of 13 pairs of artificial ponds was constructed in 2012 for the breeding of B. variegata with the aim of reconnecting disjunct populations, and the survival rates of the tadpoles released in the cleared and uncleared ponds were analysed.
