Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant activity of synovial fluid, hyaluronic acid, and two subcomponents of hyaluronic acid. synovial fluid scavenging effect is enhanced in rheumatoid arthritis patients
Hideki Sato,Terumi Takahashi,Hirotsugu Ide,Toshiyuki Fukushima,Minoru Tabata,Fusao Sekine,Kazuo Kobayashi,Masao Negishi,Yukie Niwa +8 more
TL;DR: Synovial fluid from RA patients, HA, and D-glucuronic acid markedly decreased the O2-, H2O2, OH.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role monokines in granuloma formation in mice: The ability of interleukin 1 and tumor necrosis factor-α to induce lung granulomas
Keita Kasahara,Kazuo Kobayashi,Yusuke Shikama,Ikuyo Yoneya,Shuji Kaga,Mikio Hashimoto,Toji Odagiri,Kazuhiko Soejima,Hirotsugu Ide,Terumi Takahashi,Takeshi Yoshida +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that pulmonary granulomas were induced in mice by the intractracheal injection of agarose beads coupled to recombinant interleukin 1 (IL-1) or tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α).
Journal ArticleDOI
The Mechanism of the Difference in Cellular Uptake of Platinum Derivatives in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Cell Line (PC-14) and Its Cisplatin-resistant Subline (PC-14/CDDP)
Tohru Ohmori,Toshihiko Morikage,Yoshikazu Sugimoto,Yasuhiro Fujiwara,Kazuo Kasahara,Kazuto Nishio,Sei Ohta,Sei Ohta,Yasutsuna Sasaki,Terumi Takahashi,Nagahiro Saijo +10 more
TL;DR: The mechanism of the uptake of ormaplatin is different from that of CDDP, and that orma platin exerts a cytotoxic effect in CDDP‐resistant cells which have defective cisplatin accumulation is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of interleukin 1-like factor from human peripheral blood monocytes and polymorphonuclear leukocytes by superoxide anion: the role of interleukin 1 and reactive oxygen species in inflamed sites.
Tsuyoshi Kasama,Kazuo Kobayashi,Toshiyuki Fukushima,Minoru Tabata,I Ohno,Masao Negishi,Hirotsugu Ide,Terumi Takahashi,Yukie Niwa +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that production of an IL-1-like factor(s) from monocytes and PMNs was due to O2- stimulation, implying a model of the up-regulation mechanism of inflammation mediated by enhanced IL- 1- like factor production stimulated with reactive oxygen species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influences of roxithromycin on cell-mediated immune responses
Shin-ichi Konno,Mitsuru Adachi,Kazuhito Asano,Takashi Kawazoe,Ken-ichi Okamoto,Terumi Takahashi +5 more
TL;DR: Spontaneous blastic activity of lymphocytes prepared from mice administered with RXM for 7 days was higher than those from control mice, and time kinetics of lymphocyte blastogenesis to concanavalin A showed a pattern similar to that observed in spontaneous blasticActivity.
