Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of in vivo coronary plaque morphology assessment: a validation study of in vivo virtual histology compared with in vitro histopathology.
Kenya Nasu,Etsuo Tsuchikane,Osamu Katoh,D. Geoffrey Vince,Renu Virmani,Jean Francois Surmely,Akira Murata,Yoshihiro Takeda,Tatsuya Ito,Mariko Ehara,Tetsuo Matsubara,Mitsuyasu Terashima,Takahiko Suzuki +12 more
TL;DR: In vivo IVUS RF data analysis is a useful modality for the classification of different types of coronary components, and may play an important role in the detection of vulnerable plaque.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic accuracy of 64-slice computed tomography for detecting angiographically significant coronary artery stenosis in an unselected consecutive patient population: comparison with conventional invasive angiography.
Mariko Ehara,Jean-Francois Surmely,Masato Kawai,Osamu Katoh,Tetsuo Matsubara,Mitsuyasu Terashima,Etsuo Tsuchikane,Yoshihisa Kinoshita,Tomomichi Suzuki,Tatsuya Ito,Yoshihiro Takeda,Kenya Nasu,Nobuyoshi Tanaka,Akira Murata,Yasuyuki Suzuki,Koyo Sato,Takahiko Suzuki +16 more
TL;DR: Sixty-four-MSCT has a high accuracy for the detection of significant CAD in an unselected patient population and therefore can be considered as a valuable noninvasive technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Considerable Time From the Onset of Plaque Rupture and/or Thrombi Until the Onset of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Humans Coronary Angiographic Findings Within 1 Week Before the Onset of Infarction
Shinsuke Ojio,Hisato Takatsu,Tsutomu Tanaka,Katsumi Ueno,Koichi Yokoya,Tetsuo Matsubara,Takahiko Suzuki,Sachiro Watanabe,Norihiko Morita,Masanori Kawasaki,Toshihiko Nagano,Itsuki Nishio,Kazuyoshi Sakai,Kazuhiko Nishigaki,Genzou Takemura,Toshiyuki Noda,Shinya Minatoguchi,Hisayoshi Fujiwara +17 more
TL;DR: The appearance of marked progression and Ambrose’s type II eccentric lesion on coronary angiograms 3 days before AMI suggests the presence of a considerable time from the onset of plaque rupture and/or thrombi until the onsetof acute myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Process of Progression of Coronary Artery Lesions From Mild or Moderate Stenosis to Moderate or Severe Stenosis: A Study Based on Four Serial Coronary Arteriograms per Year
Koichi Yokoya,Hisato Takatsu,Takahiko Suzuki,Hiroaki Hosokawa,Shinsuke Ojio,Tetsuo Matsubara,Tsutomu Tanaka,Sachiro Watanabe,Norihiko Morita,Kazuhiko Nishigaki,Genzou Takemura,Toshiyuki Noda,Shinya Minatoguchi,Hisayoshi Fujiwara +13 more
TL;DR: Two types of stenosis progression provide a new insight into the mechanism of coronary artery disease and suggest a relation between continuous slight progression and inflammatory change.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic Accuracy of Coronary In-Stent Restenosis Using 64-Slice Computed Tomography: Comparison With Invasive Coronary Angiography
Mariko Ehara,Masato Kawai,Jean-Francois Surmely,Tetsuo Matsubara,Mitsuyasu Terashima,Etsuo Tsuchikane,Yoshihisa Kinoshita,Tatsuya Ito,Yoshihiro Takeda,Kenya Nasu,Nobuyoshi Tanaka,Akira Murata,Hiroshi Fujita,Koyo Sato,Atsuko Kodama,Osamu Katoh,Takahiko Suzuki +16 more
TL;DR: Binary ISR can be excluded with high probability by CTCA, with a moderate rate of false-positive results, and the median value of percent diameter stenosis increased linearly as the grade of neointimal proliferation by C TCA increases.
